“… add two panels to the body of your DeLorean. For this issue, you will need the panel that you completed in Issue 02.”

I waited nearly six months to get this issue shipped to me. Apparently, it was *really* back ordered.

Front Fenders

Step 1

Push the post and pin of the Trim (Short) into the matching holes at this location on the Right Side Front Panel:

Step 2

Secure the trim into place from behind the panel with one (1) AP screw:

Step 3

Push the two posts of the Trim (Long) into the matching holes at this location on the Right Side Front Panel:

Make sure the slanted edges of this trim match the shape of the panel, otherwise it is upside down:

Step 4

Secure this trim into place from behind the panel with two (2) AP screws:

Steps 5-6

Retrieve your DeLorean body assembly. Test fit this Right Side Front Panel assembly to the right front of the car:

At this point, I recommend removing the panel and pre-threading all four (4) DM screws into each post using some 3-in-One Oil:

Then, remove the DM screws and temporarily tape this Right Side Front Panel assembly into place:

Step 7

Carefully turn the body over. Secure the front edge of the Right Side Front Panel into place with two (2) DM screws.

These lower front screws will be near impossible to install without removing the Luggage Compartment Interior. Refer to steps 11-15 of Issue 65 and do them in reverse order to get the Luggage Compartment Interior out:

Once the Luggage Compartment Interior is pulled out, we can easily add both front screws:

Step 8

Secure the rear edge of the Right Side Front Panel into place with two (2) more DM screws.

Steps 9-10

Retrieve the Driver’s Side Wing assembly from Issue 02. Test fit this to the left front of the car:

Again, I recommend removing the panel and pre-threading all four (4) DM screws into each post using 3-in-One Oil. An as before, remove the DM screws and temporarily tape this Driver’s Side Wing assembly into place on the car:

Step 11

Secure the front edge of the Driver’s Side Wing into place with two (2) DM screws:

Step 12

Secure the rear edge of the Driver’s Side Wing into place with two (2) more DM screws:

If you removed the Luggage Compartment Interior to complete this issue, you can reinstall it now:

Thoughts

While I am not super happy about the gaps between the body panels, I am not going to risk damaging anything by bending. The original DeLorean was not all that straight either. At least we are making progress!
