Build

Left & Right Reactor Vent Pipes

These Vent Pipes are marked on the underside with letters A through F. Use these letters to identify which Vent Pipe to use:

When I saw these Vent Pipes, I was a bit disappointed in the lack of contrasting details on them. I went back and looked at my pictures of The ‘A’ Car and noticed that these pipes are actually quite grimy and blackened at the ends:

Therefore, I used my imagination to say that these were ‘hot’ pipes. I could then add some color from my Tamiya Weathering Powder Set B to bring out the details and add some contrast. If you do use these powders, do it over a paper towel or other disposable surface as they are messy and will get everywhere! These powders can also wipe right off the parts, so either handle the finished parts carefully or spray a coat of clear varnish on top to seal the colors in.

Here is my combination of random touches of Rust all over with some Soot at the ends. What do you think?

Thoughts

I just love how these pipes came out! I might have to add additional powder detailing in other places now… oh boy. We are so close to finishing this build now!
