ISSUE 117

 Return to the BUILD

“[In this issue,] add more details to the reactor platform of your DeLorean.”

NOTE: As we build up this Reactor Platform, I will be using colored electrical tape to match the same tape on The ‘A’ car. We do get some colored Adhesive Stickers in Issue 125 for this, but I want to be more accurate using my own tape and I feel it is going to be easier to do now instead of later. If you want to use the stickers and have that issue available now, you can install them now as well.

Build

Reactor Cables

Step 1

Fit one end of a Short Cable into the upper hole at the rear of the Mount (Left).

On The ‘A’ Car, these hoses have orange tape wrapped around one end:

Therefore, I followed along and added my own orange electrical tape at one end of each Short Cable:

Since these two Short Cables are the same, I took one and pressed the ‘taped’ end into place:

Steps 2-3

Bend the other end around to fit into this hole of the Cable Mount, as shown:

Step 4

Fit one end of the other Short Cable into the upper hole at the rear of the Mount (Right):

Steps 5-6

Bend the other end around to fit into this hole of the Cable Mount:

This is how both of my Short Cables look from above:

Step 7

Push the silver end of the Long Cable into this hole of the Reactor Component (111E silver with wires).

On The ‘A’ Car, this cable/hose has some red tape right in the middle of it:

Not only did I add a band of red electrical tape here, but I also covered this Long Cable with braided hose. You can see how I do this process in Issue 59:

Finally, we can insert this Long Cable into the correct Reactor Component, as shown:

Thoughts

I really hope the braided hose and tape modifications make this look good at the end. It is not a ton of work, but little things like this do add up.
