Assembling The Intake Manifolds
Push the Intake Manifolds into the Intake Bottoms.
I noticed each Intake Bottom had a little more material on one end than the other. These had to match on both sides:
Fix the parts together with six (6) AP screws:
To keep things aligned nicely, I fitted this on the Engine Top from the previous issue before screwing these down. The extra material end of the Intake Bottoms should be opposite the Water Pump, as shown:
Affix the Right Air Intake to this assembly with two (2) AP screws. The groove and curved section on this piece indicate the correct part:
Turn the assembly around and affix the Left Air Intake with two (2) more AP screws:
Fitting The Manifolds
Insert this assembly into the Engine Top, aligning all of the holes.
I made sure that the ends of the air intakes with the holes faces the Water Pump end:
Flip it over again and insert six (6) AP screws in the holes to secure the pieces together:
This is what your finished assembly should look like:
Although quite fiddly with some wobbly parts, this issue was pretty quick and easy. Everything in this issue is made of plastic.
Running Total of screws used so far: 178
Issue 21 – Engine: Cylinder Head Covers, A/C Compressor, Control Pressure Regulator, Oil Filler Cap
